Dutch Migraine Genetic Research Group (DMGRG)

Welcome to our pages...

Our research projects are run jointly at the Department of Human and Clinical Genetics & the Department of Neurology of the Leiden University Medical Center, The Netherlands, and are coordinated by prof. Dr. Rune R. Frants and Dr. Michel D. Ferrari. The main aims of our research are the characterization of genes involved in  episodic neurological disorders (including migraine, cluster headache, epilepsy and narcolepsy) and the functional analysis of the roles of these genes in the pathophysiology of the diseases, using transgenic mouse model approaches. Hopefully, these studies will result in the development of new, preferably prophylactic, ways to treat the mentioned disorders.
