BCLC-study: A linkage search for new breast cancer predisposition genes

Coordinators Mike Stratton (London, UK); Doug Easton (Cambridge, UK); David Goldgar (Lyon, France)
Aim To perform a genome-wide linkage search in families with a high prior probability of being due to other genes than BRCA1 or BRCA2.
Calls for DNA samples from families. The following eligibility criteria apply:
  1. No ovarian cancer in the family
  2. No male breast cancer in the family
  3. At least three cases of breast cancer diagnosed under the age of 60
  4. At least three patients available for genotyping (i.e. blood-sampled)
  5. No BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation after extensive testing (additional testing is offered by the coordinating centers)
  6. No haplotype-sharing among patients with markers around BRCA1 and BRCA2
Status In progress; additional families requested
